Precedence Consulting

Technology consulting & business systems

The same order, entered three times.

Once by whoever took it, once by the team who fill it, once by finance. Three records of one fact, and no way to know which is right.

What we do

Better technology starts with better understanding.

Before recommending any system, we examine how your organisation actually works — its processes, its people, the systems already in place and the information moving between them. That is how we establish what is genuinely holding the business back, and design the right way forward.

Where organisations start

Technology Consulting

1 / 5

Make the right technology decision the first time.

We assess the decision in front of you against how the organisation actually operates — what the system would need to do, what it would replace, and whether technology is the right answer at all. Some of the most valuable recommendations we make cost nothing to implement.

What you get

  • A clear view of the decision and what it depends on
  • The cost of the current position, quantified
  • A build, buy or improve recommendation, with the reasoning
  • A specification you could take to any supplier
More on technology consulting

Every engagement begins by understanding the problem before we recommend a solution. The initial process consultation is free.

Our own product

The same understanding, built into a product.

Precedence Core is our own business operating system. It runs an entire operation from a single record — sales, stock, procurement, finance, people and reporting — connected, rather than bundled together and left to be reconciled.

We built it because we kept meeting organisations running eight separate tools and joining them up by hand every month. Building it is how we learned what a connected operation genuinely requires, and that informs every engagement we take — including the ones with no software in them at all.

You don’t have to buy Core to work with us. Most clients come for consulting, process design, or a system of their own. Core is simply the evidence that we can build one.

One entry, six modules

Live
  1. A sale is recorded at the counter.

    Sales & POS

  2. Stock falls by exactly what was sold.

    Inventory

  3. The customer's balance moves with it.

    Suppliers & Customers

  4. The ledger entry posts itself.

    Finance & Accounting

  5. A reorder point raises a purchase.

    Procurement

  6. This morning's numbers are already right.

    Reporting

Six modules moved. Nobody re-keyed anything, and there is nothing left to reconcile at month end.

Industries

The method does not change with the industry.

A school, a hospital, a factory and a fuel retailer look nothing alike. Where the work breaks down is almost identical — information entered twice, decisions waiting on numbers nobody fully trusts, and no single view of what is actually happening today.

Already built on Precedence Core

Gas Retail

GRMS — station operations, fuel stock, wet stock reconciliation and retail sales in one system.

Healthcare

Patient records, billing and consumables, built around clinical workflow rather than bolted to it.

Manufacturing

Production, procurement and quality control, traced from raw material through to shipment.

Water & Utilities

Metering, billing and distribution operations running on a single connected platform.

Where a vertical is not already built, we begin where we always begin — with how the operation actually runs — and build what it needs from there.

How we work

Every engagement follows the same six steps.

The order matters more than the list. The first two happen before anyone mentions a system, because automating a process nobody has examined simply produces a faster version of the same problem.

Before any system is named

  1. 01

    Understand

We work alongside the people doing the job and follow it end to end — who touches what, in what order, on which system, and what they do when it goes wrong.

A written picture of how the operation actually runs.

  2. 02

    Diagnose

We establish where work stalls, doubles back, leaves no record, or depends on one person's memory. Some of it is process, some technology. Most is both.

The problems, ranked by what each one costs.

Then, and only then

  1. 03

    Design

The improved process first, then the technology it requires — configured, integrated, or built.

A recommendation you could hand to any supplier.

  2. 04

    Build

Custom software shaped around the process, never the process around the software.

    Working software, delivered in stages.

  3. 05

    Implement

Cutover planned, people trained, and we stay through the week it goes live.

A team using it, not working around it.

  4. 06

    Improve

Once it runs you can finally see what is true. We measure, and keep adjusting.

    Evidence of whether it worked.

Why businesses choose us

Most firms either advise or build. We do both.

That combination changes the advice you receive. It is also why we are willing to tell you when the answer is not software at all — something a firm that only sells systems is rarely able to say.

  • We build what we recommend.

Precedence Core is our own business operating system — designed, built and run by us. What we advise comes from having actually built one, not from applying a framework to your situation and hoping it fits.

  • We will tell you not to buy software.

What we earn does not depend on you purchasing a system. Where a change in process achieves the same outcome at no cost, that is what we will say — which is why the first two steps of any engagement happen before a product is named.

  • You work with the founders.

You are not won over by a partner and then handed to a delivery team. The people in the first conversation are the people who do the work, and they stay on it through go-live and past it.

  • Built for how operations run here.

We work in Nigeria, where intermittent connectivity, cash handling and manual reconciliation are ordinary operating conditions rather than edge cases. Systems designed elsewhere tend to assume otherwise.

Leadership

Leadership grounded in business and technology.

Precedence is founder-led, bringing business consulting and technology leadership together rather than keeping them on opposite sides of a project. Both founders stay directly involved in the work — from understanding the business problem, through shaping the solution, to delivering the technology that makes it work.

Meet the founders
  • Business & consulting

Understanding how an organisation operates, shaping strategy, and translating business requirements into technology decisions that hold up in practice.

  • Technology & engineering

Software architecture and delivery — turning what an engagement establishes into systems that run in production, Precedence Core among them.

Where to start

Start with a conversation about how your business works.

An hour, at no cost, with one of the founders. You will leave knowing what we would examine first — whether or not you go on to work with us.

No newsletter and no follow-up sequence. A founder reads every enquiry and replies within one working day.

What happens in the hour

  1. You describe how the operation runs today.

  2. We ask the questions that locate the real problem.

  3. We tell you what we would examine first.

Sometimes the answer is that you do not yet have a problem worth spending on. We will say so.
